About Creatine:

Creatine Monohydrate - is simply a creatine molecule combined with water. Creatine Monohydrate remains the most popular form of creatine among bodybuilders and athletes as it is usually the most inexpensive.
The two basic disadvantages are (1) because of the water (most Creatine Monohydrate formulae ratios are approximately 9 to 1 creatine to water) Creatine Monohydrate commonly causes some bloating. (2)It is dependent upon other nutrients (such as fruit juice) to transport the store of creatine into the muscle. That means a higher caloric intake is necessary for Creatine Monohydrate to work.

Creatine Citrate - is creatine bound to citric acid. It is water soluble, meaning it mixes with water easily and quickly.
The two basic disadvantages of Creatine Citrate are (1) there is approximately 40% less Creatine in this compound than in Creatine Monohydrate and (2) it is among the most expensive creatine compounds.

Creatine Phosphate - is creatine bound with a phosphate molecule.
When creatine bonds with a phosphate molecule, it results in creatine phosphate. This in turn behaves in the body as a source of adenosine triphosphate - a kind of co-enzyme that serves to delivers the energy of the creatine faster to the muscle, thus providing more energy during a bodybuilding workout.
The two basic disadvantages of Creatine Phosphate are (1) it is not qas effective overall as creatine Monohydrate and (2) it is expensive.

Creatine Malate - is creatine bound with malic acid. Creatine Malate does not share the bloating or gastric disadvantages caused by other creatine compounds and is believed to deliver more energy to the muscle providing a better recovery from extreme workouts. It is, however, one of the topmost expensive forms of creatine.

Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) - is Creatine Monohydrate with an attached ester, noticeably increasing muscle mass and strength training for athletes and bodybuilders and encouraging weight loss. Because of the attached ester, CEE is more readily absorbed by the body (making it many times more efficient than other forms of creatine) which means more protein is delivered to the muscle with less water, thus eliminating the creatine bloat caused by Creatine Monohydrate. Better absorbtion means less product is required for the desired result - and that means there's no need to bulk up for the Creatine to do its work.

To quote Creatine.org:
"CEE also uses body fat more effectively, because of the ester attached. Ester is found in the fat tissue of animals, and this is what makes CEE so significant and beneficial. This is because the creatine utilizes lipids to permeate the cell wall and the esterification of substances increases their lipopholic abilities - meaning that CEE is able to infuse the cell walls and provide maximum benefits to the muscles much easier than normal creatine monohydrate. Monohydrate is only semi-lipopholic, and therefore is not able to use fat effectively or permeate the cell wall as well as CEE. This is what is meant by the body cells not absorbing creating monohydrate easily and resulting in a larger intake of creatine needed. Because of the increased bioavailability and stability that CEE provides, the creatine does a better job of maintaining muscle concentrations over a much longer period."
